Lovely Koi fish and "Gimme a H, gimme an O"...

11-21-09

I spent Saturday November 21, 2009 on a different kind of Esotouric bus ride...the main purpose of our trip was to celebrate Richard Schrave's birthday. But, like all the other Esotouric trips, this one brought us to interesting, off the beaten path places. First up was the Workman/Temple Homestead museum in City of Industry. William Workman is a very important pioneer in California's history...more info here: http://www.homesteadmuseum.org/ The homestead musuem had a wonderful Koi fish pond.

The day also brought us to the Fairmount Cemetery in Azusa and the Tamarack Inn in
Pico Rivera. Pics from the days adventures are HERE

I felt like getting a different perspective of the Hollywood sign, so I hiked to the back of it! Pics HERE.

Pixies and I Will Never Be The Same

PIXIES

I don't know how, as a Massachusetts native, I'd never seen the Pixies in concert before Thursday! But, all is well, because now I have! They sounded fantastic as they ripped through all of Doolittle and some B-sides and other treasures. Videos that I took are posted on my youtube channel here. The crowd was exuberant and bouncy, so I chose to film from the back of the Palladium.

I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

My favorite new band is I Will Never Be The Same. I heard some of their stuff on Dave Navarro's radio show "Dark Matter". Last Sunday, I went to check them out at the Viper Room. I liked them so much that I went to see them last night at the Dakota in Santa Monica, CA. This time, I brought my camera.

Photos are on my website here and the band's website here. Their next show is on December 3, 2009 @ 8PM in Pershing Square (Downtown LA) with Dramarama! Check them out!

Hiking and Halloween...

I posted a few new photos from Bronson Canyon, including a few of the Hollywood sign. here

On Halloween, I went to the Rob Zombie concert at the Hollywood Palladium. It was great and I sacrificed my limbs (which are now bruised) to be up front! I've uploaded four videos on my youtube channel and there are some photos on my website. www.LAwomanPhotography.com/zombie
